Just a brief hello from Vienna – I have now signed the lease for a gorgeous, but substandard (and hence cheap) apartment in the ninth district of Vienna. I have no clue how I could ever have been so thick as to move to a village of 40,000 and stay there for three years. It feels like I have my life back 🙂

  1. great news 😀

    /me is happy.

  2. Glad you are feeling better.

  3. Thank you:-)))

  4. Congratulations on regaining control over your life! Now, don’t abuse that power by developing things such as independent thought.
Oh, wait, you don’t live in the US. Go right ahead!
Seriously: I wish you all the best for this new segment of your life.

  5. CONGRATULATIONS!!!! I wish you all the very best in Vienna. I arrived back yesterday and scarcely had I checked my work mails when nausea overcame me . . . I’ve been institutionalised for more than ten years now. You can justifiably call me “the village idiot”.

  6. May I also call you the “only idiot in the village”? I don’t really know what to do yet in Vienna, although I am moderately busy (drinking shandies and doing yoga), but I am severely lacking furniture. I bought an inflatable matress yetserday and its fumes are giving me nausea.

  7. that’s great, congratulations! i had, perhaps a similar feeling when I arrived back in chicago after my pennsylvanian hiatus. Good to feel like you’re where you belong.
