Misogynist Hate Bloggers

I remember that Lenina wrote about hate bloggers quite a while ago who were stalking a female blogger – stalking her in the virtual sphere, but a a death threat via comment spam is still a death threat! Over the past days, I have also received hate comments which used the typical rhetoric of the misogynist, e.g. “heavy flow day, sweetie”, on other occasions comparing me with a plant/vegetable.

Don’t forget, misogynist prankster calling yourself Jerry, that I am in control of the buttons here. Also, I have your IP logged and can narrow you down to one specific US campus. Better think twice before mistaking the blogosphere as an outlet for your inferiority complexes.

  1. there are also nice things such as ’email bombs’ etc. to sort this guy out.

  2. I also received the “heavy flow” message–strangely enough in response to the Monty Python clip I posted. Hmmm…maybe people SHOULD begin to call me Loretta. Bet that would confuse that misogynistic/homophobic douchebag.

  3. @Jetsam: Once more you are at the discourse-bending, this time gender-bending forefront! Did he call you ‘sweetie’ too?

  4. I get about a death threat every couple of weeks because of my political ideologies. Most of them contain such horrendous spelling errors, they are easy to pass-off… just ignore them and they will go away.

  5. Wow, this sounds like some thriller material! Hollywood never made a movie about online stalkers!

  6. @Rajesh: It would be a story worthwhile telling – I could imagine though that the screen itself might be a dramatic challenge (but they always build the funniest interfaces for movies, 48 point Verdana).

@Gavin: That sounds pretty intimidating. I suppose ignorance is the best solution in the long run.

  7. Hmmm…now that you mention it: he did not call me sweetie. That must mean he likes your menstrual flow better than mine. I am somewhat hurt here. I might have to send him a few hundred e-mails asking why he does not like mine as much as he likes others. Maybe I will also cook his rabbit a little bit.

  8. Hey, I was just thinking: maybe it’s that European Graduate School director person again–we seem to have hurt his feelings in the past and maybe this is his sophisticated way of getting back at us. We’ll know for sure when he subcontracts dozens of big-name theorists to occasionally write his hate-mail for him.
Oh–and sorry for the missing apostrophe before.

  9. Online media really are excellent for instilling paranoia, aren’t they? You never know who could sit at the opposite end and what you might appreciate as attention from some might be closer to observation coming from others.

P.S: Yesterday somebody searched for Wolfgang Schirmacher and got to this blog!
